FAQ

Grant Application Questions

Everything you need to know about our programs, eligibility, and application process.

We accept applications from individual artists, arts organizations, community groups, and educational institutions. Eligibility varies by program, but we welcome emerging and established creators across all disciplines. U.S.-based applicants are prioritized, though select programs are open internationally.
Individual artist grants range from $2,500 to $25,000 depending on the program. Organizational grants can be up to $100,000 for multi-year projects. Emergency relief grants of $1,000 are also available for artists facing unexpected financial hardship.
We operate three grant cycles per year: Spring (deadline March 15), Summer (deadline June 15), and Fall (deadline October 15). Decisions are typically announced 8-10 weeks after each deadline. Late applications are not accepted.
Not necessarily. While some programs are designed for professional artists with exhibition or performance history, we also have dedicated programs for emerging artists, students, and community-based creators. We evaluate the quality and impact of proposed work, not just credentials.
Applications are reviewed by rotating panels of practicing artists, curators, and cultural leaders. We evaluate artistic merit, project feasibility, community impact, and alignment with our equity-centered mission. Panelists recuse themselves from any conflict of interest.
You may hold one active individual grant and one active organizational grant at the same time. However, you cannot apply for two grants in the same cycle. Previous grantees are welcome to reapply after completing their funded project and submitting a final report.
