Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your first class

Not at all! Our beginner classes are designed for people who have never worked with clay before. Our instructors will guide you through every step, from centering clay to trimming and glazing. We provide all the tools and materials you need.
Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Clay can be messy! We recommend layers, as the studio temperature can vary. We provide aprons, but clay may still get on your clothes. Closed-toe shoes are required for safety.
Most pieces require multiple sessions. After creating your piece, it needs to dry (1-2 weeks), be bisque fired, glazed, and glaze fired. The entire process typically takes 3-4 weeks from start to finish. We handle all firing and notify you when pieces are ready for pickup.
Class fees include instruction, all tools and equipment, up to 10 lbs of clay per session, and one glaze firing. Additional clay and firings are available at a small extra cost. Open studio members get discounted rates on materials.
Fresh pieces need to dry slowly to prevent cracking, so you'll leave them at the studio. We carefully store your work through the drying and firing process. You can pick up finished pieces during studio hours, typically 3-4 weeks after creation.
Yes! Gift certificates are available for any dollar amount or for specific classes. They make perfect gifts for creative friends and family. Certificates are valid for one year from purchase and can be used for any of our classes or services.
