We were nervous about bringing our kids on safari, but the junior ranger program kept them engaged and educated. They still talk about the baby elephants every single day.

FAQ

Safari Questions Answered

Everything you need to know before embarking on your African wildlife adventure.

The dry season (June-October) offers the best wildlife viewing as animals congregate around water sources and vegetation is thinner. However, the green season (November-May) brings baby animals, migratory birds, and dramatically lower prices. We help you choose the ideal timing based on your priorities.
Absolutely. We offer family-friendly safaris with lodges that have fenced perimeters, child-specific menus, junior ranger programs, and shorter game drives. Children 6+ can join standard game drives, while younger children enjoy specialized bush activities at camp. All our guides are trained in family safety protocols.
Requirements vary by country. Generally, Yellow Fever is mandatory for East Africa, and we recommend Hepatitis A/B, Typhoid, and Tetanus. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly advised. We provide a comprehensive health checklist and connect you with travel medicine specialists during the booking process.
Neutral-colored clothing (khaki, olive, brown), a wide-brim hat, quality sunglasses, binoculars, sunscreen SPF 50+, insect repellent, and a good camera. We send a detailed packing list tailored to your specific destination and season upon booking confirmation.
Our experienced guides maintain safe distances as required by park regulations, typically 20-30 meters for most species. However, animals often approach the vehicle on their own — it's not uncommon to have elephants walk within arm's reach. Predators are observed from the safety of our reinforced vehicles.
We offer flexible cancellation: full refund up to 90 days before departure, 50% refund 60-89 days, and 25% refund 30-59 days. We strongly recommend travel insurance, which we can arrange, covering cancellation for any reason including medical emergencies and travel disruptions.
